I had the honor of helping out my good friend and colleague, Ruth Wels, for her senior project. I composed the music for her stop-motion film, "On the Other Side of the Fence." This is based off a short story by the same name.

In Ruth's own words:
"The story is about Deborah, a young girl who lives a carefree life on a small plot of land. Her life takes a turn as she continues to find dead chickens in her yard. She attempts to hide them by putting the chickens into balloons. Soon her yard is cluttered with the chicken filled balloons. As she grows in to adulthood, she constantly tries to hide the chickens that appear. In the end, she realizes that she cannot do it alone."

Since the beginning of Spring semester, Ruth has worked non-stop on this. Single-handedly, she raised money, built the set, planned the scenes, helped shoot, edited, compiled, cut and did pretty much everything. She has indeed done the work of at least ten and consequently deserves eternal hot fudge sundaes.
